Editorial policy

We write our own product names. Each one is the count, then the thing, then the colour or the size where we state one, in that order and short enough to fit on a shelf label. Names in this trade commonly run to a hundred and fifty characters and repeat the same word four times. That is a search tactic, not a name, and it is not what a person reads when they are comparing two boxes.

Everything in our specification is something we state about our own product. Where we have not named a material we print no material. Where we have not measured, the row is not there, rather than a guess wearing a decimal point.

Our two guides that touch on safety quote published guidance, named and dated, and we keep the whole list on the sources page. Where we have nothing to quote and nothing to measure, we say so and stop.

Ratings and reviews

Ratings on this site are the ones published for the products themselves. 1145 of our lines carry one and 14 do not, and the ones that do not show no stars rather than a zero. A rating belongs to a whole family of colours and sizes rather than to one of them on its own, because that is how the range keeps its pool of ratings, so the same figure appears on every colour of one line.

Counted that way, 694 families carry 511,301 ratings between them, and we count each family once rather than once per colour.

Where a subject touches health, we quote a national body, print the date we read it, and list every page on the sources page. Sources were read on 14 August 2026.

Corrections

Write to contact@blulu.net and say what is wrong. A fact that turns out to be unsupported comes off the page rather than being softened.
