Do not last long-term for Christmas Lights
I bought a huge package of the large and medium 2 years ago. The plan was that these could be used to place on the gutter where the rain guard is and the windows so that I wouldn't need to re-do the hooks every year, just take down and put up the lights. I was expecting these to last 3-5 years. For any location that received 4+ hours of sun a year, most of the clips had broken off within 45 days of application. For those areas that received 2-4 hours of sun, most of the clips became yellow after a year and broke off when I was putting up lights the second year. I found that the only clips that seemed to last over a year were those that were under an awning and received 0 sunlight a day and very little rain. Even then, a few of those also broke. As a tip, a pair of linesmen pliers (large) worked the best to take the clips off. A strong grab and a twist was able to get most of them off within a few tugs. The Adhesive takes a bit longer and a plastic scraping blade seemed to work the best. There were a lot of spots were the adhesive took off chunks of paint.I would not recommend these to be used for Christmas lights for outside applications when you want to take the lights off every year. It may work fine if you use these inside in a temperature controlled environment where the cables are not to be removed (permanent installation).
